This week’s edition of the SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator found temporary staffing hours worked for the week ending May 13th (“last week measured”) decreased -9% compared to the same week a year ago. Over the past five weeks, hours worked in Commercial occupations fell by an average year-over-year growth rate of -13%, while Professional occupations decreased by an average year-over-year growth rate of -4%.
Compared to the same week two years ago (in May 2021), Commercial staffing was down -12%, and Professional staffing was up 10%. On a week-over-week basis, temporary staffing hours worked were up slightly (0.4%), while Commercial staffing hours increased 0.7% and Professional staffing hours were roughly stable (-0.3%).
The SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator is a unique tool for gauging near real time weekly trends in the volume of temporary staffing delivered by US staffing firms. It reflects weekly hours worked by temporary workers across a sample of staffing companies in the US that utilize Bullhorn’s technology solutions.
