What is a Customer Service Representative?
The role of a Customer Service Professional is a key position within Assurant because you are the voice of our organization and clients. You are highly valued as our customer’s primary point of contact, and Assurant is very much invested in your success in this role. Providing excellent customer service is top priority for us!
When you start, we train you:
- It’s a combination of “classroom” & “on the job” training that is typically 6 weeks long but duration can vary
- Classroom training hours are typically Monday through Friday from 9am – 5:30pm ET with a lunch break
- Upon completion of class room training you will receive your regular shift & start working those hours
Training Schedule:
- Monday to Friday – 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM ET
Shift:
- Must be available to work between 8:00am – 12:00am ET every day including weekends, will include have 2 days off.
- 365 days/year
- Schedules will be determined during training
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Receive in-bound calls from customers who want to open a claim.
- Listen, solve problems, answer questions and work with them to find a resolution
- Use your expertise to proactively make recommendations that will help customers avoid future issues
- Follows standard screens/ scripts to perform tasks.
- Resolves many questions and problems
- Knowledgeable of company products & services.
- Research contract issues for supporting departments such as Claims for Service Recruitment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Relentless drive to provide exceptional customer service
- Excellent communication and listening skills. Good verbal and written communication skills Active listening skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt to change and work well in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multi-task using technology while handling calls
- Minimum high school diploma or GED
- A minimum of 6 months experience in call center
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Must have experience working with dual/multiple monitors AND working with MS Outlook and Teams
