It looks like temporary staffing platforms are gaining more traction than ever before! Global revenue for these services rose a whopping 58% between 2021 and 2022, resulting in a $21.0 billion market at the end of last year. It’s no surprise either, as SIA’s “Temporary Staffing Platform Update” report defines these systems as taking the two-sided digital labor marketplace, ratings and other systems of online talent platforms and combining them with the traditional pricing models of staffing firms.
What’s more, according to the report 76% of temp staffing platforms are professional services, with US healthcare accounting for a huge proportion of the total market value at $15.3 billion – an 80% year-over-year increase. It seems that traditional staffing firms offering these platforms still hold a significant share of the market too, at 62%.
So there you have it! It looks like the future of staffing is digital.
