Discovering a job in today’s complex employment market can be a daunting task. To help understand this environment, Textkernel, an AI-powered recruitment and HR technology provider, has provided SIA with comprehensive online job vacancy statistics from eight European countries, the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
Textkernel’s analysis of Q3 2023 found that there were 28 million online job vacancies for the twelve countries in this report, a 12% decline on the same quarter of the previous year, and 19% down on the peak of 34.5 million seen in Q2 2022. Of the European countries covered, Belgium boasted the highest number of vacancies in proportion to its labour force size, with 119 online job vacancies posted for every 1,000 people in their labour force. The US similarly had 74 online vacancies per 1,000 of its labour force in Q3 2023.
The total number of online vacancies posted for Northern America (US & Canada) was 13.5 million in Q3 2023, 11% down on the total seen a year earlier. In Australia and New Zealand, the total number of online job vacancies posted was 1.3 million in Q3 2023, 29% down on the same quarter of the previous year
