Despite indications of an upcoming recession, it appears that chief human resources officers remain confident in their organizations’ hiring efforts. According to the Conference Board’s inaugural CHRO Confidence Index, 76% of these officers expect hiring to remain steady or accelerate over the next six months. This optimism is buoyed by other survey results that point to increasing employee engagement and retention. Indeed, 45% of participants stated that engagement had gone up in the last six months and 45% also expected retention to increase in the near future. It remains to be seen if this confidence will hold, but the initial outlook is certainly a positive one.
