Today’s SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator report showed a dramatic decrease in temporary staffing hours across the US. Compared to the same time last year, the number of hours worked fell by 13%, with commercial staffing down 16% and professional staffing falling a more moderate 4%.

Since December 22nd 2022, temporary work has been lower than the same time the year prior. Furthermore, the latest figures showed a loss of 10,000 jobs in March 2023.

However, the outlook for the rest of 2023 isn’t all doom and gloom. According to Staffing Industry Analysts, commercial staffing may experience a relatively modest decrease in size, while professional staffing market trends could remain mixed in terms of size.
