This report is a follow-up to the WBC Benchmark Survey on Gender Equity in the Staffing Industry conducted in August 2023, confirming many of the critical findings and uncovering additional opinions expressed by gender.
Women make up the majority of the internal workforce at staffing companies, but they remain underrepresented in executive, CEO, and board positions. Women account for a median of 66% of staffing internal staff, 50% of executive positions, and only 33% of board seats. This number is down 3% compared to the year prior.
Of the small staffing firms surveyed, 54% were founded by women, but only 11% of large staffing firms were founded by women. Additionally, Net Promoter Scores for staffing firms with women CEOs increased for the second consecutive year. Although the sample size of the survey prevents it from being generalized across the entire industry, research shows that women leaders often exhibit greater effectiveness in business and proficiency in certain areas.
