Every week the SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator provides insight into the state of the US staffing industry. This week, figures for the week ending June 24th show temporary staffing hours worked were down -7% compared to the same week one year ago. Commercial staffing hours were down -7% year-over-year and professional staffing hours decreased -7%. On a week-over-week basis, temporary staffing hours worked were stable (-0.3%), while commercial and professional temporary staffing hours were down slightly (-0.7%) and up 1.2% respectively.
The Staffing Industry Analysts’ Perspective reveals that compared to the same week two years ago (June 2021), commercial staffing was down -9% and professional staffing was up 2%. Since December 2022, temporary help employment has decreased by 2.6% year-over-year. Looking to the full year 2023, SIA projects a modest decline in commercial staffing and mixed trends in professional staffing in terms of market size.
