The week ended March 18 saw an 11% year-over-year decline in temporary staffing hours worked in the US, according to the SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator report released today. Commercial staffing hours fell 14% year-over-year, while professional staffing hours decreased 3%. Not surprisingly, temporary employment has been below its year-ago levels since Dec. 22, 2022 and dipped 2.8% year-over-year in February. This is largely attributed to the record-setting volume levels achieved in many skills segments of staffing in 2022. The data shows that the staffing industry is continuing to be affected by the pandemic.
