This week’s SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator marks the eighth week of year-over-year declines, as US staffing hours decreased by -10% compared to the same week one year ago. Professional staffing hours were down -8%, while commercial staffing hours were down -11%. On a week-over-week basis, professional staffing hours were up 3.1%, while commercial staffing hours were down -0.6%.
Since the Labor Day Holiday, the average week-on-week growth rate was 3.5% for professional hours, compared with 1.6% for commercial hours (2.0% for US staffing overall).
This data suggests that the industry continues to gradually descend from the pandemic era highs, likely indicating increased competitive pressures while still presenting large opportunities for those staffing firms that have developed a competitive advantage.
