As Thanksgiving draws closer, staffing hours are on the rise sequentially ahead of the holiday week ending November 18th. According to the SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator, temporary staffing hours worked for the week ending Nov 18th (“last week measured”) were down -7% compared to the corresponding week a year ago. Commercial temporary staffing hours were down -9% year-over-year, while professional temporary staffing hours were down -4% year-over-year. On a week-over-week sequential basis, temporary staffing hours worked were up 0.8%. Commercial temporary staffing hours were up 1.0%, while professional temporary staffing hours remained steady with 0.2% growth.

The professional staffing indexed value was 136 for the week ending Nov 18th, and the commercial staffing indexed value was 82. The US staffing indexed value, weighted to reflect the US staffing industry mix of professional and commercial jobs, was 98 for the same week.
